This week temperatures in Berlin are supposed to rise to new heights again, something that doesn’t exactly make me rejoice. All the same, I love these late summer days as you can see that autumn is just around the corner. So I try to ignore the high temperatures.

For me, Broderie anglaise is the epitome of summer fabrics. In the 19th century it was mainly used on nightwear and underclothing. Nowadays, it’s often used for sundresses or light shirt dresses like the one I’m wearing today. Due to the tiny eyelets the material is perfect for when it’s really hot or humid outside.
