The Cactus Trend | Friday Find

One tends to stumble upon cactus prints and various other cactus themed items a lot lately. Most of these feature either opuntias or saguaros. I adore this trend as succulents have always had a certain appeal to me. And I sure am having a hard time not caving in to my craving right now. I especially like the MSGM collection with saguaro print dress and white shorts. The black American Retro dress sports a simplified cactus print which would look great too, I think – plus, it’s made from pure silk.

The saguaro (Carnegiea gigantea) is an aborescent cactus which can grow up to be over 20m tall.  It is native to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, the Mexican State of Sonora. Saguaros have a relatively long lifespan. They may grow their first side arm any time from 75–100 years of age. Some specimens may live for more than 150 years. The Gila woodpeckers (Melanerpes uropygialis) create new nest holes each season rather than reuse the old ones, leaving convenient nest holes for other animals, such as elf owls.Remember that mariachi band in the movie Rango?
