I have been aware of this season’s pastel blue trend for a while now and finally decided to go for this Kiomi dress. It is just above knee length which gives it a nice retro vibe. It strongly reminds me of 1950’s photographs. I also like the lower neckline at the back.
Once in a while, I love simple outfits like this one. I think the colour here speaks for itself so it doesn’t need much else except for a few accessories to add contrast for visual interest. I decided on black sunglasses and my new platform sandals by LK Bennett London. I also made a point of keeping the make-up natural and light.
The sandals feature a lacquered sole in layered stripes and very soft, supple leather which makes me glad I snatched them up at a sale not long ago! The weather here in Berlin has been overcast and rainy lately, so the dress is the brightest spot in these pictures! Perfect opportunity for playing around with filters a bit. Of course, in retrospect, mirrored sunglasses would be an interesting addition to a setting like this one – sort of adding a modern twist to this rather classic ensemble – maybe next time… !
