Nailpolish Review: Essie Naughty Nautical 266

I’d like to take the time to show you one of my favourite Essie nailpolish colours.

Colour: 266 is a cool greenish-blue shade of colour which I really love. I would call it jade. It has tiny silver flecks in it which gives the result a nice subtle shimmer. Needless to say, I love the alliterative name – naughty nautical is pretty accurate too as it reminds you of the sea. It looks a bit like turquoise at first sight but it is actually more green and jade coloured.

Formula: As with all the Essie polishes I have tried so far the texture is great with an easy application.

Application: The nails are touch dry after about 5-8 min. At least another 10 min in order to be able to do things without smudging. This is a normal drying-time for Essie though, I think.

Longevity: Applied in two coats without base or top coat it shows minimal signs of tipwear after two days. Of course, that always depends a bit on how much you work with your hands. When used with a top coat it has a lifespan of about a week which is great. I currently use Essie’s Let It Shine topcoat.

Verdict: Love this colour! The fine silvery shimmer is totally unexpected. It’s a cool shade that goes nicely with pale skin.

Heute würde ich euch gerne eine meiner absoluten Lieblingsnagellackfarben zeigen: Naughty Nautical (via Douglas.de hier)

Farbe: Naughty Nautical ist ein schönes Meergrün. Es ist eine kalte Farbe mit ganz dezentem silbernem Schimmer, der den Lack besonders aussehen lässt. Ich würde es als Jade bezeichnen, es ist deutlich mehr grün als türkis. Ich mag auch den netten Namen, der gut passt.

Konsistenz: Wie bei all meinen Essie-Lacken ist die Konsistenz sehr angenehm und lässt sich prima auftragen.

Applikation: Oberflächlich trocken sind die Nägel bereits nach etwa 5-8min. Wirklich mit den Händen arbeiten ohne unschöne Abdrücke im Lack kann ich meist erst nach mindestens weiteren 10min. Das ist aber, denke ich, eine normale Trocknungszeit bei Essie.

Haltbarkeit: In zwei Schichten und ohne Unter- und Überlack hält er schon relativ gut – nach mindestens 2 Tagen habe ich aber trotzdem  erstes tipwear. Mit einem Überlack hingegen hält er gut eine Woche lang. Ich benutze momentan vor allem den Let It Shine Überlack von Essie.

FAZIT: Wunderschöne, kühle Farbnuance. Sieht auch auf sehr heller Haut schön aus. Aparter feiner Schimmer, den man auf Anhieb nicht erwartet.
