This dress has been in my wardrobe for almost ten years now. So it’s high time I showed it to you.
It was actually an ebay find – as it was already sold out at Oasis but I had really fallen in love with the style. So I browsed ebay for ages until I finally got lucky. That was about nine years ago. I have worn it to special occasions since. It’s one of those dresses I fall back on when I have an event to attend that calls for something fun yet chic. The rest of the time it sits around waiting in my wardrobe which is why I decided it was perfect for Ela’s Schrankmonster link up here. This is a fun link up for all those pieces you haven’t worn in a while. These may be pieces of which you don’t really know why you bought them in the first place, pieces you’re not sure about but can’t bear to give away or simply pieces of clothing you seldom wear like my dress here. Although I’m not usually one for that much colour I love everything about this dress. The bandeau construction with the contrast top and silk chiffon skirt. The colourful print with botanical details like stamen and filaments. This is the kind of pattern I tend to associate with tropical island getaways.
It’s actually the perfect summer party dress. Ideal for cocktails or a holiday resort. Do you have special dresses like this in your closet?
I decided to do multicolour nails matching the colours in the chiffon skirt. I have used black (trend IT UP No1 nail polish in 020 here ) and metallic green (p2 Secret Splendour LE Addicted to Luxury nailpolish in 040 oppulent sapphire). And I quite like the effect. Kennt ihr das? Man findet ein Kleid, das einem total gut gefällt, aber es ist leider nicht mehr in der eigenen Größe verfügbar? So ging es mir vor etwa neun Jahren mit diesem schönen Stück. Ich hatte es gesehen und mich sofort verliebt, aber es war bei Oasis bereits ausverkauft. Da ich durchaus habe ich bei ebay so lange gesucht bis ich es endlich gefunden hatte. Ich hatte Glück und habe sogar noch ein Schnäppchen gemacht!
Es ist eines dieser Kleider die für special occasions ideal sind, aber den Rest der Zeit ihr Dasein doch eher (gut geschützt) im Schrank fristen. Daher qualifiziert es sich meiner Meinung nach recht gut für das Schrankmonster Link Up der lieben Ela von elablogt hier. Trotzdem würde ich mich niemals davon trennen, da es mir einfach immernoch zu gut gefällt. Und wenn die nächste etwas schickere Sommerparty (da ich gar kein Partytier bin, könnte das etwas dauern, aber egal) ansteht, habe ich schließlich eine Option mehr, die mir zur Auswahl steht.
Es gibt ja die “Regel”, dass man Kleidungsstücke, die man über ein Jahr lang nicht getragen hat, aussortieren sollte/kann. Ich finde allerdings, dass es Stücke gibt, bei denen es sich durchaus lohnt, sie aufzuheben. Dann hat man auch bei besonderen Anlässen immer etwas “Neues” ohne dafür extra einkaufen zu müssen.
Auf den Nägeln habe ich heute passend zum Kleid zwei verschiedene Farben: trend IT UP No1 Nagellack in 020 hier und metallic Grün aus der p2 Secret Splendour LE, Addicted to Luxury nailpolish in 040 oppulent sapphire. Der Effekt gefällt mir recht gut zu dem Muster des Rockteils. Mein Review zur Splendour LE findet ihr übrigens hier.

Das Kleid ist unheimlich schön. Aber noch schöner finde ich die Freude die auf den Bildern ausstrahlst :)) da sieht man einfach das du es gerne magst und das Lächeln macht das Kleid direkt nochmal schöner.

Ich schließe mich Mandy an. Mit dem Lächeln wäre nicht mal ein Müllsack ein Schrankmonster. Du musst schon ein bisschen unglücklicher aus der Wäsche schauen, damit das nach Schrankmonster aussieht. ;))

Oooh, tolles Kleid! Das kannst du eigentlich ständig tragen! Mit einem Jäckchen und Strunpfhosen macht es sogar einen bunten Herbst!
Aber ja, leider hab ich auch Kleider für bestimmte Gelegenheiten, die ich danach selten trage… Und auf einmal entdeck ich sie wieder im Schrank, freu mich wie ein Kuchen und will sie nie mehr ablegen und frag mich: Wie konnte ich das Teil nur vergessen?
