Another day, another comfy cape look – I am wearing them a lot lately, I have to admit. But they have proven to be a versatile addition to my wardrobe this year.This rust-coloured River Island cape is worked in a simple rib pattern and features two front pockets with faux leather trim. I rather like having the luxury of extra pockets for a lipstick (my Bobbi Brown Art Stick), a tissue, pens, change…especially when I’m at work and don’t want to lug a bag around to every meeting. For me capes are actually a great accessory for casual work outfits…
Although combining a cape with overknees has been a very popular styling option these days I decided to add some cute wedge slippers here instead. These Geox suede slippers exude a bit of a Victoriana vibe and are adorned with little tassels. The deep berry shade almost mirrors the colour of my knit dress and is a nice match for the earthy shade of the cape. I have been playing around with autumn colours a lot lately but one needs to do this as long as the warmer weather and golden autumn days last, in my opinion.
