Monthly Favourites

August Favourites

Although a bit later than usual, I still have some August favourites to share with you. Last month turned out to be a bit busier than intended…

Nevertheless, these are some of the products I’ve been using last month. I also have a new TV show to share with you as well as a colourful DIY for fall.

Favourite Products

Balea Waterspray

I would never have thought I’d ever admit to using a water spray. I mean, let’s face it – you could just use cool tap water in a spraying bottle which you can find in most plant supply shops. You can also use your favourite Evian if you’d like. BUT I have to admit I enjoyed this spray on those very hot summer days we had in August.  Spraying your face with a fine mist of water is actually very refreshing. Nevertheless, this is not a product I’d normally endorse from an environmental point of view as bottles like these create waste. Nevertheless, I wanted to share it with you as it’s very affordable. You can find it at dm drugstores if you’re interested here.

Estee Lauder Pure Color 5 Couleurs - Enchanted Berries

Estee Lauder Pure Color 5 Couleurs – Enchanted Berries

I’ve been raving about my love for eyeshadows in the red/burgundy spectrum for a while now. This is actually a versatile, everyday palette I’ve had for years. But last month I have been loving the berry burgundy shade on my entire lid. I’ve been wearing this look to work a lot and I really like the definition it gives. The pigmentation of this shade is really good – it lasts all day. And it’s a bit more exciting than the usual nudes and browns most people wear to the office. I have been using this palette for my everyday eye looks on and off over the past few years. The palette originally contained a light nude shade for the brow line, a light pink, the reddish berry tone, a deep eggplant purple and a shimmery beige. I’ve already hit the pan with the cream shade though. Colour payoff and pigmentation differs between shades in this palette. The upside is that you can also use each colour wet to intensify the look. As I mentioned, I bought this about three years ago but you can still find the palette here if you’re interested. This new version by Estée Lauder also looks similar colour-wise.

p2 Hydro Nail Treatment

This gel is a nourishing treatment to moisturise and strengthen nails and cuticles. It’s a relatively new product which was added to the p2 Cosmetics range in March. I like it so far and will be reviewing it properly once I’ve used it for a few months. The formula is vegan and has virtually no scent which I love. It’s available in dm stores here.

Favourite Show

Lucifer

Another show I stumbled upon on Amazon prime video, this was totally different from what I first expected. Lucifer is actually a crime show with humorous undercurrents and a bit of fantasy mixed in as Lucifer is actually the devil in disguise who chose to take a time out from hell. Compared to other series of the thriller genre Lucifer is relatively light-weight and with an easy-going undertone. It’s far less dark than Hannibal for instance. If you like shows like Castle or Elementary then this might be right up your alley. It does have its moments of thrill though. Most of the entertainment comes from Lucifer’s dandy personality and witty remarks as well as the interaction of the characters. I really recommend watching this in the English original as Lucifer’s British accent adds to the enjoyment of the show in my opinion. While I’m usually not big of fantasy shows (anything with vampires, zombies or demons) the fantastic elements here aren’t too distracting and fit in with the theme.

Balea Wasserspray Aqua

Estee Lauder Pure Color 5 Couleurs - Enchanted Berries

Estee Lauder Pure Color 5 Couleurs – Enchanted Berries

p2 Hands & Nails Hydro nail treatment Gel

p2 Hands & Nails Hydro – nail treatment Gel

Vegan.

TV Show

Lucifer

B. in Hannibal.

I think I might try that Balea waterspray. I use a lot of Balea products, there is a DM store at every corner here:)…that palette seems lovely.

I haven’t seen Lucifer, I lack the concentration to watch TV shoes…I’ve heard that Hanibal was really great, but I guess I didn’t find time for that one either and they cancelled it or something.

I love that link you included. I think blogs can be so much more than they seem, they can be a lovely platform to talk and to learn new things.

  19. Dorina
