As promised, here is the first installation of travel outfits from my recent trip to Dublin. I harbour a deep-set love for the sea so I’ll start off with a day at Killiney Beach and Dùn Laoghaire.
Fall is the season for getting your knits out again and Irish weather can be treacherous so I made sure to pack a sweater. I love cable patterns and when going to the seaside they are a must in my opinion. This Mint & Berry sweater is from last year’s fall collection. It has a very subtle colour gradient which runs from apricot to the lightest pink. I love layering for fall so a simple white tee underneath made it easy to take the sweater off when it was sunny. Those kind of fall outfits are my favourite as they are effortless. There is no need to bring a jacket and you can add or lose layers as you go. We were incredibly lucky with the weather throughout our stay on the green isle. With moderately sunny 16°C on this particular day it was even possible to take one’s shoes off at the beach without freezing to death.
I love pebbly beaches and never get tired of perusing what the tide left behind. I can literally spend hours looking at the different shapes of pebbles (it’s extremely therapeutic if you live in a city as a non-city person) and searching for any remnants of marine life. Fittingly, I named this post after a book by Irish-born author Iris Murdoch “The Sea, The Sea”…
